Three wounded in shootings

Three men were injured last night in separate shooting incidents in Co Louth and Co Armagh

Three men were injured last night in separate shooting incidents in Co Louth and Co Armagh. Two of the shootings took place in Dundalk at around 10.50 p.m. A man in his 40s was shot in the stomach in the Cox's Demesne housing estate. Around the same time another man received gunshot wounds to the leg in the Bay estate area.

In both cases masked men are reported to have broken into the men's homes. It is believed the attacks were connected. Neither man's injuries were thought to be life threatening.

In the North, a man was being treated in hospital after a shooting incident in Parkmore, Craigavon, Co Armagh. The incident happened shortly after 10.30 p.m. The man's condition was not believed to be serious.
