Parents should buy their children's school textbooks now and avoid the rush at the end of August, the Irish Educational Publishers Association has advised. "Shops are currently carrying ample stocks of textbooks, so parents who leave the buying until just before schools reopen could find themselves in long queues," said Mr Hubert Mahony, IEPA spokesman.
The National Parents' Council has also advised parents to buy books as early as possible.
