The brother of a prominent Dublin drugs trafficker has been arrested by the Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) on suspicion of managing 25 properties on behalf of a number of criminals.
The CAB had been monitoring his activities for several months and finally arrested him yesterday morning. His brother is a major heroin dealer who fled to the Netherlands in the mid-1990s.
The man is being detained in Donnybrook Garda Station on suspicion of tax evasion and can be held for a number of days.
His arrest follows a series of significant drugs seizures this month. On September 5th, the CAB and other Garda agencies recovered heroin and cocaine worth €2 million from a house in Maynooth, Co Kildare. On September 3rd, 27 suspected drug dealers were arrested.
