The trial of a Dublin man accused of stabbing his partner to death has been adjourned at the Central Criminal Court.
The court has heard that the deceased, Linda Dunne (24), died from blood loss after being stabbed 16 or 17 times, mainly in the face and neck.
Mr Liam Wells (37) of Coultry Road, Ballymun, Dublin, has pleaded not guilty to the murder of Ms Dunne (24) of Sillogue Road, Ballymun, on September 18th, 2001, at Sillogue Road, Ballymun.
The accused admitted two charges of assault, causing harm, to Ms Kathleen Dunne and Mr Joseph White at Shangan Avenue, Ballymun, on the same date.

The trial was adjourned today to continue on Monday before Mr Justice Paul Carney.
