New York - Ms Linda Tripp gave independent counsel Mr Kenneth Starr a notebook chronicling the times, dates, places and circumstances of Ms Monica Lewinsky's alleged affair with President Bill Clinton, Time magazine reported in its edition to be published today. Time, quoting unidentified sources outside Mr Starr's office, said the notebook included events that allegedly occurred in months not covered by Ms Tripp's secret recordings of Ms Lewinsky, which triggered the White House sex-and-perjury scandal. Time reports that a year ago, when Ms Lewinsky was distraught over the president's decision to end their alleged liaison, she talked for hours to Ms Tripp, who wrote it all down in her notebook and later gave it to Mr Starr. The 80 to 100 pages of shorthand may have helped Mr Starr to test Ms Lewinsky's credibility and jog her memory when she began co-operating with him.
