A truck driver has died when the fuel tanker he was driving hit a tree andoverturned near Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan, this morning.
The man died at the scene of the crash, which occurred at around 6.45 am. No other people were involved.
An emergency plan was put into action because of the threat of fire from the tanker. Traffic is being diverted off the main road between Carrickmacross and Ballybay.
