Kidnappers released a Turkish journalist in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul three days after her abduction, CNN Turk television reported last night.
The kidnappers delivered the journalist, Ms Zeynep Tugrul, who works for the Sabahnewspaper, to a local Turkmen politician in Mosul after her kidnappers contacted the politician by telephone, the station said.
The motive of her kidnappers and their identity were not known, the television station said.
Iraqi militants, who want to pressure foreigners not to cooperate with the US military in Iraq, have embarked on a campaign of kidnappings since April. Several hostages have been freed but more than 20 have been killed, some by decapitation.
At least two Turkish truck drivers have been killed by their abductors in Iraq in recent months.
Ms Tugrul left Iraq for Turkey after her release, and an official from the Turkish foreign ministry called her family to inform them about her release, the station said.
