Two US aircraft transporting military personnel made emergency landings at Shannon Airport over the weekend.
Earlier today a passenger jet with almost 300 passengers and crew was forced to land at Shannon after reporting engine trouble.
It is believed that the plane was travelling from the Middle East to the US. The plane landed without incident shortly before noon.
Yesterday, a smaller aircraft also operated by the US military landed at Shannon after reporting a problem with one of its engines. This plane which was carrying just two passengers and crew landed safely at around 1pm on Saturday.
As of today this plane remains at Shannon.
