Gardai have arrested two men in connection with the murders last year of apprentice plumber Anthony Campbell and gangland figure Martin Hyland.

The two men, aged 26 and 40, were arrested in Finglas this morning and are being detained under Section 30 Offences against the State Act, 1939 at Blanchardstown and Finglas Garda stations.

Mr Hyland (39) was the target of the attack in which he and Mr Campbell (20), of Michan's House flats, Greek Street, Dublin 7, were shot dead on December 12th last.

Mr Campbell was carrying out work in the house at Scribblestown Park, Finglas, north Dublin, when the killers arrived at the house. Mr Hyland was shot in the head at least twice as he lay in bed, and investigating officers believe Mr Campbell was killed because he was a potential witness.
