A powerful bomb exploded on a public transport bus in Bombay late today, killing two people and wounding 31 others.
"This blast has definitely been caused by a terrorist groupbut we still do not know which group is involved," KripashnkarSingh, junior home minister of the Maharashtra state, whereBombay is located, told journalists today.
"It was quite a powerful bomb, which was placed under theseat in the rear of the bus," he said.
The bomb exploded at 9:00 p.m. (1530 Irish time) in a moving busnear a telephone exchange at Ghatkopar, a northeastern suburb ofBombay.

The blast ripped through the rear portion of the bus,shattered all its windows and damaged another bus and amotorcycle that were passing by, police said.
