A man and a woman arrested by gardaí in Portlaoise on Thursday as part of an operation which led to the seizure of ecstasy tablets with an estimated street value of more than €200,000 have been released pending the preparation of a file for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
However, a third man who was arrested during a follow-up operation in Carlow town later that day remained in Garda custody last night. It is understood that approximately 2,000 ecstasy tablets were discovered by gardaí at the time of his arrest.
