Two men held in connection with the seizure of cannabis with a potential street value of €1.1 million at a warehouse in an industrial estate in Blanchardstown last night, have been released without charge

The cannabis was discovered in pallets of tiles which had been imported from Southern Spain.

The men, aged 39 and 53, were arrested at the scene and held at Blanchardstown Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice ( Drug Trafficking ) Act 1996.

Elsewhere, gardai in Rosslare arrested a British man (51) and a French woman (43) yesterday after cannabis worth €175,000 was discovered in a petrol tank in a British-registered car that disembarked the ferry from Cherbourg.

The drugs were found during a routine check by customs officers. The man and woman are being held at Wexford garda station.
