Two men who had been held in Naas Garda station in connection with the attack on Marian Finucane's home appeared at Baltinglass District Court, Co Wicklow, yesterday afternoon. The pair faced charges in relation to different offences, having earlier been released in relation to the Finucane raid.
Following their release they were immediately rearrested and questioned in relation to other offences. A third man was released and not rearrested. Eric Byrne (26), Jobstown, Tallaght, was released on a bond that he would appear in court tomorrow in Tallaght to answer road traffic offences.
The second man to come before Judge Murrough Connellan was Glen Creed (23), also from Jobstown. He was due to appear in court on February 21st which he failed to do and thus was breaking a High Court bail.
Judge Connellan refused the bail and Mr Creed is currently being remanded in Naas to appear before the court in Tallaght on Wednesday next.
A file is currently being prepared for the DPP on the case relating to the raid on Marion Finucane's home on February 20th. Finucane's son, Jack Clarke, was tied up and beaten.
