TWO Irish climbers were treated in hospital yesterday after they were hit by falling snow on Creag Meagaidh in the Scottish Highlands. They were a plumber, Mr Paul Keogh (32), of Kilmore Close, Artane, Dublin, and a merchant, Mr Se O'Hanlon (55), Hillcrest Park, Glasnevin, Dublin.

Mr Keogh was discharged from hospital in Fort William after being treated for a twisted ankle. Mr O'Hanlon had a broken leg and was transferred to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.

Police said they were among a party of five when both were swept off the face of the climb by a snow overhang which gave way above them.
