TWO men in their early 20s were killed when their car collided with a lorry coming in the opposite direction on the road between Waterford and Wexford late last night.
The men, who were from Wexford, were travelling from New Ross to Waterford in a Fiat Uno when the accident happened about seven miles from Glenmore, Co Kilkenny. The lorry driver, who is from Dungarvan, Co Waterford, was unhurt but suffered shock.
Traffic was diverted for several hours through Glenmore town while the two bodies were taken to Waterford Regional Hospital and the roads cleared. The names of the dead men will be released later today.
