Two men have been remanded in custody after appearing in court charged in connection with an alleged credit card cloning scam.

Maurius Matei (32) and Ion Buzdug (30), both originally from Romania but of no fixed address, were charged with ten counts of possession of articles with intent to defraud.

It is alleged they were in possession of six cloned department store cards and four stolen credit cards.

Dublin District Court heard they were arrested this morning in Merrion Row.

They made no reply when they were charged at Harcourt Terrace Garda Station. There was no application for bail.

Garda Philip Rowe objected to bail for the two men because gardaí are not satisfied with their addresses.

Judge William Early remanded both in custody to appear in Cloverhill District Court today.
