Two men received serious stab wounds and a woman was punched when they were attacked by a gang in Belfast last night.

Two men received serious stab wounds and a woman was punched when they were attacked by a gang in Belfast last night.

The two men and two women were walking from Ormeau Avenue towards the Dublin road at 2.10 a.m. when they were approached by six men.

"The two male victims were stabbed and a female victim was punched in the throat," a PSNI spokesman said.

One of the men received a stab wound to the abdomen and a large cut on his head. The other man was also stabbed in the abdomen and on one of his arms.

Neither man's injuries are life threatening. The six men walked off in the direction of Cromac Street  and Ormeau Avenue after the attack.
