Two more held over McDaid killing

Two more men have been arrested over the murder Catholic community worker Kevin McDain in Coleraine last month.

Two more men have been arrested over the murder Catholic community worker Kevin McDain in Coleraine last month.

The men – aged 44 and 37 - are being questioned at Antrim police station over the murder of Mr McDaid (49), and the serious assault of Damien Fleming (46).

The pair were attacked by a Protestant mob in the Heights area of the Co Derry town on May 24th after Rangers beat Celtic to the Scottish Premier League title.

Earlier this week a 20-year-old man being questioned by police about the attack

was released on bail pending further inquiries. A 42-year-old woman arrested by police was also released.

Nine people have been charged in connection with the incident.
