A branch committee spokesman and trustee, Mr Tom Moran, said the two suspended trustees had been refusing to give commitments to sign cheques in some circumstances, which had the effect of depriving union activists of legitimate expenses. However, one of the suspended trustees, Ms Clare Daly, said she had only been insisting on properly validated claims for expenses. The other suspended trustee is Mr Brendan Leech, a shop steward in the aircraft cleaning section.
