Two US troops are feared dead after the helicopter they were travelling in crashed northeast of Baghdad.
Iraqi police said the aircraft may have been shot down, near the village of Jezani al-Chol - 15 miles east of Baqouba. US forces cordoned off the area immediately after the crash.
The joint coordination centre of the Diyala provincial police said two US soldiers had been killed in the crash.
A US military spokesman said US officials had received the report from police and were looking for the helicopter.
