The Hague - Rwanda has refused a visa to the chief prosecutor of the UN genocide tribunal, Ms Carla Del Ponte, her staff said yesterday, but she still plans to visit Kigali next week.
"The Rwandan authorities refused to grant her a visa, it's true," Ms Del Ponte's spokesman said. Kigali authorities are angry that the appeals chamber of the UN court freed a key suspect on procedural grounds.
