JUST in case there's anyone out there who still doesn't know who Oasis are, journalist Eugene Masterson has written an unsanctioned" biography of the band, The Lord On The Street, and the book was launched last Tuesday at the Chocolate Bar, just in time for the band's arrival in Ireland for their concerts in Cork.

Only the hopelessly optimistic would expect the Gallaghers themselves to show up and give Mr Masterson their blessing, but there were plenty of other pop stars in attendance, including Dublin rock bands Blink and The Ultra Montanes, Keith Duffy from Boyzone, and Boyzone's Dublin rivals O.T.T. The boys were some what outnumbered by the girls, however, and among the glamorous guests were solo singers Una Gibney and Ursula McLoughlin, plus members of Valerie Roe's new all girl pop group, Syren, and sassy newcomers F.A.B., one of whose members is the sister of Boyzone's Keith Duffy.

Also at the launch were the book's Scottish publisher, Bill Campbell, Boyzone manager Louis Walsh, MCA MD Dave Pennefather, 2FM's Mike Moloney, the Olympia's Tara Sinnott, illustrator Jim Fitzpatrick, and models Siobhan Kavanagh and Evelyn Carey.
