Ryan Giggs was one of the few experienced players called upon for Manchester United's Champions League trip to Deportivo La Coruna today.

With qualification for the quarter-finals already assured, United manager Alex Ferguson opted to rest several of his key first team players, including David Beckham, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville, Fabien Barthez and Rio Ferdinand.

Scottish Under-21 international Darren Fletcher, who impressed during last week's 1-1 draw with Basle, is among the travelling party and is expected to be given another opportunity against the Spaniards, who are already out of the competition.

Giggs, Phil Neville, Nicky Butt, John O'Shea, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Laurent Blanc have made the trip to Spain.
