The US army said this afternoon it was holding another investigation of a site bombed in April in a strike aimed at killing Saddam Hussein, after receiving intelligence that human remains could be buried there.

Lieutenant-General David McKiernan, the top US commander in Iraq, told a news conference that previous searches of the site in Baghdad's Mansur district had not been thorough enough and that forensic experts would sift the area for evidence.
