One US soldier was killed and two wounded in a bomb attack on their convoy in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul today, the US Army said.
"One soldier was killed and two were injured in an IED (improvised explosive device) explosion next to a military convoy this morning," Sergeant Kelly Tyler of the 101st Airborne Division said.
Iraqi police who rushed to the scene said a US Humvee was destroyed in the blast.
Guerrilla attacks have killed 191 US soldiers in Iraq since President George W. Bush declared major combat over on May 1st.
