Nine members of the Ulster Unionist Party in the Northern Ireland Assembly would cease to support the party leader if Sinn Fein were allowed join a new executive without IRA decommissioning, according to a newspaper survey. The survey was conducted among 25 of the 28 UUP Assembly members by the Belfast Telegraph. The nine who said they would not back Mr Trimble under such circumstances were: Ms Pauline Armitage, Mr Billy Armstrong, Mr Roy Beggs Junior, Mr Robert Coulter, Mr Ken Robinson, Mr Derek Hussey, Mr Tom Benson, Mr Esmond Birnie, and one who did not want to be named.
