Manchester United chief executive Peter Kenyon believes Juan Veron will be at Old Trafford next season as he looks to bring an end to the speculation Veron will leave in the summer.
Veron has been linked with a return to Lazio, from where United bought the 27 year-old midfielder for a British record transfer fee of £28 million less than a year ago.
"We are going to look at other ways now of addressing this problem because it has gone on for too long and is undermining everybody, not just Seba, but the team as a whole. That is not acceptable," Kenyon told the Manchester Evening Newstoday.
"We will keep our powder dry on our plans but inaccurate stories of the nature we read at the weekend have just got to be stopped because there is nothing further from the truth.
"There is nothing to indicate Juan Veron won't be a Manchester United player next season, either from the club or from the player".
It was claimed in some of Sunday's newspapers that Veron had walked out on the club after clashing with some of his team mates in the aftermath of their Champions League semi-final defeat by Bayer Leverkusen.
"We are not going to stand for it any more. These stories are just wildly inaccurate," Kenyon said. "You have to believe there are concerted efforts by people outside of United to unsettle Juan Veron and it is unsettling. Nobody needs that".
