Brussels - Belgium's last known first World War veteran has died of pneumonia at the age of 102.

Brussels - Belgium's last known first World War veteran has died of pneumonia at the age of 102.

Mr Paul Ooghe, who regularly attended the Remembrance Day commemorations held in Brussels every November 11th, died on Saturday in hospital.

Mr Ooghe served with the cavalry, spent 30 months and nine days fighting German forces and was decorated several times.
