Chesterfield - A Derbyshire vicar who was depressed by funerals drove to France to commit suicide, an inquest heard today. The Rev Graham Friend (58) was depressed by the "language" of funerals and the number of services he had to conduct, said his widow Kathleen.

He regularly worked long hours, taking church services, visiting the bereaved and conducting five funerals a week.
