An Englishman extradited on charges of taking part in the Lansdowne Road riots will be using video footage to contest an assault charge.
Mr Colin Graham McNulty (31), of Broadoak Way, Cheltenham, is accused of criminal damage to the stadium, possession of an offensive weapon, riotous assembly and assault occasioning actual bodily harm on February 15th, 1995.
Defence solicitor, Mr Michael Staines, told Dublin District Court there would be submissions on the book of evidence in relation to the assault charge.
Judge Michael Patwell said he would have to view video footage, described as being one hour long, before ruling on whether there was sufficient evidence to send the defendant for trial.
The judge remanded McNulty on continuing bail to April 25th for the submission hearing.
Two other men extradited on similar charges were sent forward for trial yesterday. Mr Jason Anckers (24), of Cornwall, and Sean Knighton (32), of Tyne and Wear, are also facing charges of rioting, possession of offensive weapons, criminal damage and assault.
Judge Patwell ruled there was sufficient evidence in the two cases and remanded the defendants on bail to the present sittings of the Circuit Criminal Court.
All three men are on bail of £5,000 cash lodgment and independent surety of £1,000 each. They were due to return home to England yesterday pending their trials.
