Viduka holds talks on Tottenham move

Tottenham have held talks with Leeds United striker Mark Viduka

Tottenham have held talks with Leeds United striker Mark Viduka. The player's Italian agent, Andrea D'Amico, today revealed he met Spurs chairman Daniel Levy at White Hart Lane to discuss a move for the player, who still has three years to run on his current contract at Elland Road.

But D'Amico intimated that the London club were likely to be out-bid by bigger European clubs should the Australian decide to leave the club: "At the moment it is only interest from Spurs, and there are a lot of clubs in Europe who are interested in Mark."

The 27-year-old cost Leeds £6million from Celtic in July 2000 but D'Amico reckoned Spurs boss Glenn Hoddle, who is under huge pressure to bring a big name to the club, would not have to pay that much. "I think the transfer figure would be cheaper than before," he said.

Another of D'Amico's clients, Rangers defender Lorenzo Amoruso, has been linked with a summer switch to Blackburn Rovers. The Italian is about to enter the final year of his current contract and could therefore be sold if he does not agree a new deal.
