A Vietnamese woman charged over a seizure of almost €1 million worth of cannabis at a suspected grow-house in Dublin may have been trafficked to Ireland, a court has been told.

Cannabis believed to be valued at €980,000 was found at a premises on the Lagan Road in the Dublin Industrial Estate on the city’s northside. Thi Pham (52), who has no fixed address, was provided with a translator when questioned.

She was charged early yesterday and later she was before Dublin District Court charged with unlawful possession of cannabis and having it for the purposes of sale or supply on November 20th.

Legal aid was granted, and defence solicitor Caitríona Keane said Thi Pham was consenting to be remanded in custody, saying she “is of no means; she found herself in this jurisdiction, maybe not of her own volition”.
