Kate Rothwell, 17 Co WexfordI have been on it for a year, but in the last six months all the secondary schools seem to have latched on to it and Bebo has become a massive craze. I complain all the time about how annoying it is but I amstill on it so it can't be that annoying. The main reason I use it is to send out mass messages to people to inform them of what I amup to. It is addictive but I seem to be able to resist the temptation to go on it all the time. I actually use Myspace.com more than Bebo because it has a special music section.

I used to be a member of Bebo. I suppose I just wanted to see what it was like. I soon discovered it's a site that fools people into thinking they are popular. Over a three-day period I received 97 e-mails from people I already knew and talked to on a daily basis anyway. (I'd hate to see how many e-mails I'd get if I was "really popular"!) Every one of those e-mails were chain messages. I eventually got sick of being harassed and cancelled my membership.

I think Bebo is brilliant. You hear a lot of negative stuff about it, mainly from parents, but I haven't had any bad experiences since I signed up just before Christmas last year. Imainly use it for keeping in touch with people I don't see that often. I enjoy watching the funny videos, leaving comments and reading the comments people have put on my page. There is nothing bad about it, Bebo is just pure entertainment.

I didn't want to join at first but friends sat me down and said, "You have to do it!" Now I find I spend an awful lot of time on the site. Definitely too much time. If you are online you just have to check in to see if anyone has left you a comment and you get a bit obsessed about how many people have viewed your profile. It's also a great way to keep in touch with friends.

I had resisted joining Bebo up until a month ago. When I first started I was spending far too much time on the site but now I have got it down to half an hour a day. For some reason girls seems to find it more addictive than boys. I am seriously considering going cold turkey like some of my friends already have. I know it will be hard.

I've been out and recognised someone and then thought "How do I know her?" and then I realise, oh, I recognise her from Bebo. That's part of why I stopped using the site actually - I was spending too much time looking through the photo albums of random strangers. You log on and suddenly you are wondering where the last hour has gone. I got my friend to change my password and told her not to tell me the new one under any circumstances. I haven't been on Bebo now for four weeks. I'm taking it one day at a time.
