Vincent Browne gets award from native city of Limerick

Broadcaster and journalist Vincent Browne has been honoured with a lifetime achievement award from his native Limerick.

Broadcaster and journalist Vincent Browne has been honoured with a lifetime achievement award from his native Limerick.

Accepting the award,Browne (68), who is originally from Broadford, paid tribute to the many groups in Limerick who he said had helped keep communities together.

"I'm hugely honoured to be acknowledged by people of my own county who I have such an allegiance to and I'm deeply grateful."

Mr Browne was recognised at the Limerick Person of the Year 2102 awards where the chairwoman of Limerick Tidy Towns was named the overall winner.

Helen O'Donnell introduced the concept of entering Limerick into the Tidy Towns competition.
