Vinnie Roe, winner of the Irish St Leger a record four times, is on course for a return to action at Leopardstown on Sunday.
Dermot Weld's seven-year-old is due to run in the Listed Ballyroan Stakes at the weekend, a race he has won twice in the past, as he continues his build-up towards another bid for the Curragh Classic.
On his most recent outing Vinnie Roe finished third, beaten five and a quarter lengths behind Westerner in the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot at York.
"Vinnie Roe is well and all set for Sunday. He had a break after running third in the Ascot Gold Cup in June and is in good form," Weld told the Racing Post.
