Disposable contact lenses maker Vistakon has announced that is its to create an extra 120 jobs at its Limerick plant.

Disposable contact lenses maker Vistakon has announced that is its to create an extra 120 jobs at its Limerick plant.

The new jobs at the Plassey Technological Park come as a result of a €100 million investment in next generation products in the disposable soft lenses market.

The jobs are aimed at the high quality research and development end. The company currently employs over 500 people at its Limerick plant.

Vistakon is part of the Johnson & Johnson group which already employs 2,000 people at seven plants in Cashel, Cork, Dublin, and Limerick.

Supported by IDA Ireland, the investment represents a significant development at the facility and will create 124 new jobs over two years in manufacturing, quality and engineering.
