A BRONZE life-size statue of the legendary GAA manager Mick O’Dwyer is to be erected in his native Waterville in Kerry and the town’s main park and promenade will be renamed in his honour.
The decision to rename the seafront park, now known as the Barrack field, was taken on Friday night at a public meeting in Waterville. A submission for the name change is to be made to Kerry County Council.
O’Dwyer (74) has given his consent to the plans, spokesman for the local committee Tony Donnelly said.
