May 26th, the Parliament Office hosted a round table meeting during the Euro can week of action on unemployment. Present were members of the ICTU Executive Council, ICTU general secretary Peter Cassellsand representatives of the ICTU network of unemployed centres; and, on the political side, Ministers of State Eithne FitzGerald and Pat Rabbitte, Mary O'Rourke TD and Nuala Ahern MEP.
Discussion centred on unemployment, programmes to reintegrate the long-term unemployed, and possible developments in public sector jobs.
