The Football Association has asked Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger to explain his post-match comments about Ruud van Nistelrooy following last weekend's draw at Old Trafford.
Wenger accused Van Nistelrooy of "cheating" during the bad-tempered game.
The Arsenal boss has not been charged with misconduct but must provide a written explanation as to why he was so critical of the United striker.
