Just back from a European and US tour where they were the specially invited guests of Morrissey, Dublin quintet Sack are pretty much on fire at the moment and keeping the momentum up with their own headlining gig in Whelans next Friday. Formed out of the ashes of Lord John White, Sack promised much with early singles like What Have The Christians Done For Us?, which won them loads of Single Of The Week awards in the British music press. Now two albums down the line, they've lost none of their powerful guitar sound and their lyrics continue to impress. Watch out in particular for a song called Laughter Lines which should have been a hit first time out but will now have to be re-released if they are finally to get what they deserve. A splendid live show sees them turning up the amp to eleven.
