NHL Division One reviews and results:Dublin ensured their top-flight status with a crushing win over a makeshift Limerick side at Parnell Park, while Galway took the points in the dress rehearsal for the league final against Cork.
Galway 3-17 Cork 2-13:At Pearse Stadium, Niall Healy was the catalyst for a Galway win with a personal haul of 2-09.
After Cork took an early three-point lead, Healy pointed from the penalty spot before making amends by hitting the net minutes later.
Cork’s Luke O’Farrell then struck a goal of his own and the Rebels led 1-08 to 1-07 at halftime.
Galway took control after the restart, wtih Angus Callinan and Niall Hayes pointed early, but Ciaran Murphy levelled the scores with goal for Cork.
Healy, however, added his second goal with two minutes to go and Damien Hayes came off the bench to score a third in injury time and ensure the Tribesmen head to the final in two weeks’ time with a bit of an edge.
Dublin 6-30 Limerick 2-11:Dublin needed at least a draw at Parnell Park to ensure they stayed in Division One, but nothing but a win was ever on the cards as they totally dominated a troubled Limerick side.
Alan McCrabbe scored eight for Dublin in the first half as all six forwards pointed and the hosts took a 20-point lead in at the break.
Dotsy O’Callaghan hit the net twice after the break, while Shane Ryan, John Kelly, Liam Rushe and Paul Ryan also grabbed goals to wrap up a convincing win for Anthony Daly’s side.
Kilkenny 1-20 Waterford 2-12:Waterford produced an admirable fightback against All-Ireland champions Kilkenny at Nowlan Park but the Cats did most of the damage with a ruthless first half display.
Waterford dragged themselves to within three points of their hosts after the break before Richie Hogan scored his fifth and Eoin Guinan his fourth to seal a five point win.
Offaly 2-14 Tipperary 1-18:It was a close run thing for Tipperary in Tullamore after a late Seamus Callanan goal secured the points against Offaly.
More worrying for the Premier County was the sight of Eoin Kelly leaving the field injured early in the second half.
Before the break, Kelly scored five points as Tipp took a 0-11 to 0-07 lead in at halftime.
However, after his departure, Offaly fought back and got two goals through Shane Dooley before Callanan’s late free nicked the win for Tipp.
