Gardaí last night arrested a woman in connection with the murder of a Cork drug dealer last month.
The arrest brings to six the number of people being questioned by detectives investigating the fatal shooting of Eric Cummins outside his home in Ballincollig, Co Cork on August 13 th.
Five men, ranging in age from their late 20s to their mid-40s, were arrested on Monday.
One of the men is being detained in Gurranbraher Garda station and the other four are being held at various stations in Cork city. All are being detained under Section 30 of Offences Against The State Act, and could be held for up to 72 hours.
Cummins, a native of Cork city, had just returned home with his partner and their 18-month-old son following a family day out when a gunman approached him and shot him at close range. He had only been living in the rented house with his partner and child for two months.
Gardaí believe the murder may be related to the drugs trade. Cummins also had links with the Limerick underworld.
