Jackass star Steve-O held after scaling crane in Seaworld protest

41-year-old inflated a killer whale balloon and lit fireworks after 100ft climb

A cast member of US TV show Jackass has been arrested for climbing a crane in Hollywood in a protest against Seaworld.

Los Angeles police said Steve-O - born Stephen Glover in London - drew dozens of emergency responders to a construction site where he climbed a crane towering at least 100ft.

Lt Michael Ling said that when Glover (41) reached the top, he inflated a large killer whale balloon with the words "Seaworld Sucks" on it and lit fireworks or a firecracker.

He climbed down on his own and was taken into custody.

Lt Ling said because the first responders were unsure whether Glover needed to be rescued, several ambulances and fire trucks were sent to the scene. Firefighters prepared a cushion in case of a fall.

Glover’s representative did not comment.
