London - Animals and plant life in one-third of the world's natural habitats could find their environments destroyed or transformed by the end of the century, the Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF) said yesterday.
Certain plant and animal species face extinction as swathes of territory, particularly in northern extremes, are ravaged by global warming, according to a study by the WWF.
The group has called on world leaders to sit up and take notice of the latest predictions, widely blamed on carbon emissions.
