A 20-year-old Limerick man is comfortable in hospital after he received pellet wounds in the face and neck at the weekend. He is Mr Darren Mason, single, of Raheen Square, Ballinacurra, Weston. The incident took place at Byrne Avenue, Prospect.

Gardai believe the incident is linked to an attack on Mr Mason's father, Gerard, at the same address. He received injuries to his arms and hands last Friday when he was struck by a sword-like object. A 19-year-old man charged with assaulting Mr Gerard Mason was remanded in custody until tomorrow.
