A youth has been charged over an assault in Dublin city centre last month which left a Lithuanian man paralysed.

A youth has been charged over an assault in Dublin city centre last month which left a Lithuanian man paralysed.

The 17-year-old boy, who cannot be identified because he is a juvenile, was yesterday charged with assault causing harm to Andrej Fiflimonov (21), at the Millennium Bridge on December 8th.

The teenager, who is from eastern Europe, has not yet entered a plea.

Garda Paul Burke said the teenager, who was accompanied to his hearing at the Dublin Children’s Court by his mother, made “no reply” when he was charged.

He said the case involved a serious assault, the victim had been kept in hospital and was currently paralysed.

Directions from the DPP have yet to be obtained.There was no objection to bail.
