London - A drug user strangled his 83-year-old grandmother while stealing her pension money to fund his habit, a court heard yesterday. Luke Hamilton (18), of Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, initially denied any part in the widow's death on January 4th last, but eventually told police that he may have killed her during a drug-induced hallucination.

In a confession, which he later contradicted, he admitted taking cannabis and amphetamines before going to Mrs Daphne Cole's home, telling police: "I killed her but I can't actually remember doing it."
