A schizophrenic priest with a Kalashnikov, a black cyberpunk terrorist and a bisexual Welsh philosopher in a millennial road movie? It sounds like a pain in the neck, and occasionally - when it tries to be too clever - Todd Wiggins's debut novel is a tad crick-inducing. But that deliciously bizarre trio is its strong point; they have their likeable moments, and so, consequently, does the narrative.
