A statement by Senator Feargal Quinn on the subject of Mr Hugh O'Flaherty was inaccurately published in a report from the Seanad in yesterday's editions. It should have read that he believed there was no comparison between the misjudgment that had been made by Mr O'Flaherty and the crimes of which others were being accused.

A report from the Central Criminal Court in the editions of Tuesday, May 23rd, headed "Dublin electrician jailed for 7 years following one of the largest Semtex discoveries in the Republic", quoted Mr Justice Barr as saying that he had noted (in determining the sentence) that Padraig Steenson "had previous convictions and had co-operated with the gardai". This should have read "had no previous convictions and had co-operated with the gardai". The error, which occurred in the editing process, is regretted.
