In an article published in the editions of The Irish Times of April 6th, 1995, under the heading "Family intimidated by bullies considers returning to Wales", a reference was made to members of certain families known as the "Dill Dolls".

The Irish Times has been informed by the solicitors for Patrick Connolly (now deceased), Mary Connolly, Patrick Connolly jnr and Johanna Connolly, that the term "Dill Dolls" may have referred to them. The Irish Times accepts that they were not involved in these activities and confirms that the phrase was not intended to apply to them and regrets any hurt or embarrassment which they may have suffered as a result. {CORRECTION} 97040800165
